Scope of the project:

A consortium of railway industry, technology suppliers, research institutes, as well as standardisation- and testing organisations work together on a practical link between AI-procedures and the requirements and approval processes in the railway environment. One focus lies on the development of standardised test methods- and tools, to ensure approval-relevant product safety for a broad use of fully autonomous trains.

The safe.trAIn project is the first official lighthouse project of the standardisation roadmap Artificial Intelligence Version 1.

Ziel des Projekts:

Ein Konsortium aus Schienenindustrie, Technologiezulieferern, Forschungseinrichtungen sowie Normungs- und Prüforganisationen arbeitet gemeinsam an einer praktikablen Verknüpfung von KI-Verfahren mit den Anforderungen und Zulassungsprozessen im Bahnumfeld. Ein Fokus liegt dabei auf der Entwicklung standardisierter Prüfmethoden und -werkzeuge, um die zulassungsrelevante Produktsicherheit für einen breiten Einsatz vollautonomer Züge zu gewährleisten.

Das Projekt safe.trAIn ist das erste offizielle Leuchtturmprojekt der Normungsroadmap Künstliche Intelligenz Version 1.

Networking activities -

Ziel der geplanten Anwenderkreise ist eine Vernetzung relevanter Akteure und die Etablierung eines informativen Austauschs zu Themen im Bereich funktionale Sicherheit, KI und Bahnwesen. Neben der Vernetzung und Diskussion von Ansätzen, Möglichkeiten, ersten Use Cases, Auswirkungen des AI Acts etc. stehen insbesondere auch die Identifikation von Standardisierungsbedarfen und der mögliche Transfer in Normung und Standardisierung im Fokus.

Eine aktive Mitwirkung von interessierten Expert*innen ist erwünscht. Wir freuen uns über Ihre Kontaktaufnahme!

User groups

The aim of the planned user groups is to connect relevant stakeholders and to establish an informative exchange on topics in the field of functional safety, AI, and railway. Besides networking and the discussion of approaches, possibilities, initial Use Cases, effects of the AI Acts etc., there will also be a particular focus on the identification of standardisation needs and possible transfer to standardisation.

An active participation of interested experts is desired. We look forward to hearing from you!
