We would like to announce the preparatory study for Horizontal requirements on Repairability. The study is conducted by JRC’s Circular Economy & Sustainable Industry unit (JRC-B.5) under the mandate of DG ENV with the view to support a potential legal act as per the ESPR Working Plan 2025-2030. Those interested in following this specific project may consult its webpage HERE, and register (if not done already) at the Register tab, in order to be kept informed about updates (documents, meetings).
In parallel, a first stakeholder meeting for this project is announced for Tuesday, 18th of November. The hybrid meeting will take place both physically at the JRC premises in Seville (Joint Research Centre, Edificio EXPO, C/Inca Garcilaso 3, E-41092 Sevilla, Spain) and also remotely via Webex. Those interested to attend this meeting specifically, please also declare your interest at JRC- ESPR-REPAIR@ec.europa.eu, before the 16th of October, indicating your affiliation, the number of participants on your side, and whether you would be interested to attend physically or remotely. If those interested to participate physically exceed the meeting room capacity, a limit of participants per affiliation would be applied ensuring a balance of representation.
The purpose of this stakeholder meeting is to present the methodology for the study, as well as the preliminary results of the first tasks for the product scope definition (focused on consumer electronics, light means of transport and small household appliances). An agenda and a draft report with the status of the work will be provided closer to the meeting to those who will register.
