Circular Product Design - Webinar

You are kindly invited to the webinar on ‘Circular Product Design' that will take place on 8 September 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 CEST. Did you know that waste and pollution are largely determined by the way we design things? Waste and pollution are not accidents, but the consequence of decisions made at design stage, where about 80% of the environmental impacts are determined. Likewise, the adverse footprint on the planet left due to the extraction of resources only happens because of the way we make and consume products and materials.

With the development of standards, CEN and CENELEC support the European industry in their transition to a more sustainable use of resources while protecting consumers, workers, and the environment.
In this webinar we will discuss in particular how organizations can rely on standards to embed the basic principles of using less, using longer, and using again in the design process of their
products helping them address root causes of global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution.

Speakers:
Keynote presentation followed by concrete examples, by Solange Blaszkowski. She has a PhD in molecular modelling and works at Philips in the Netherlands as Director for Standardization Environment. She is active in environment (ENV) and circular economy (CE) standardization, including leadership positions like CEN-CENELEC SABE group on CE, Chair of IEC advising committee on ENV, Convener of four groups in CEN and CENELEC, IEC & joint ISO-IEC, in particular the Circular Product Design group of CEN-CLC JTC10, and Chair of two national mirror committees at the Dutch Standardization Body of NEN.
